About Boston Billiards

 
BOSTON Billiards was founded in 1972. In the beginning, the company focused primarily on pool table service and repairs. As the client base grew, we opened our first showroom in Somerville and sold new pool tables made by Brunswick and Golden West. In 1975, Stephen Kelly came to Boston Billiards and brought his love for antiques with him.

The Olympia pool hall in Boston’s infamous combat zone had shut its doors forever in 1975. Boston Billiards purchased the contents of the Olympia. Included were twenty Brunswick Anniversary pool tables that had seen the likes of Willie Hoppe, Irving Crane and Willie Mosconi perform their magic with the cue ball. The tables had seen a lot of use and needed to be refinished in order to sell them. The tables sold quickly once they were restored.

Stephen Kelly purchased Boston Billiards from the original owners in 1979. Over time, you would see more and more antique pool tables on the showroom floor. Today you will see one of the finest collections of antique American pool tables in existence in our showroom. There are also many period billiard accessories available.

Boston Billiards does still sell new pool tables. They come in a wide array of styles, from traditional to contemporary to ultra-modern. We are also buying back some slightly used tables and refurbishing them for resale. 

Many of our customers own pool tables that have been in their family for many decades. They have been passed down through the generations and hold precious memories. There is nothing more rewarding in this business than being able to restore one of these pieces for them. We have a complete wood shop and can repair or make most anything that is damaged or missing from your pool table. We also make cue racks, ball racks, triangles as well as custom items that you may want for your billiard room.
 Many of our pool tables have been professionally photographed and will from time to time appear in books and magazines. Some of our tables have been seen in Hollywood movies. We were featured on NECN Dream House and on PBS This Old House. 

You will of course find all the playing accessories needed to complete your billiard room including ball sets, cue sticks, triangles, chalk and lighting etc...
